Yum online food ordering is now in Kampala!

The online food ordering business in Kampala just became aggressive, as Yum Deliveries joins HelloFood in this space . This new food ordering service has now launched in Kampala. Yum Deliveries is Kampala’s newest restaurant delivery service and allows its customers to order online here. The company has kicked off with 5 of Kampala’s favorite local restaurants: The Bistro, Miso Gardens, Pardis, Tamarai and The Great Indian Dhaba restaurant.

Yum Deliveries says that they have their drivers stationed at each restaurant for fast service. The company started in Nairobi four years ago and now has a network of over 200 restaurants in Nairobi, something they are keen to replicate in Kampala. The company comes at a time where Rocket Internet’s HelloFood is already monopolizing the food ordering business in Kampala and has partnered several restaurants and big carriers like MTN for easier mobile money payments. So what will Yum do different from HelloFood? Well, the company promises to offer a high quality customer experience, but is that enough? In order to catch up with the competition, they will need to quickly increase the number of restaurants they partner with and also go mobile by developing an Android mobile application that integrates with existing mobile money platforms in Uganda.
