Wananchi Cable Uganda Ltd has officially launched its operations in Uganda and yesterday launched its Zuku Fiber product that promises to offer Unlimited home internet including Digital TV services and Telephone services. A memo leaked of their pricing early this week, detailing on how the company will offer four Triple play packages. Zuku Fiber promises super fast internet speed of up to 100 Mbps.
Speaking during the launch at Kabira Country Club , Wananchi Group Chief Executive Officer, Thomas Hintze said that the introduction of one of the Fastest Internet Speed in Uganda (100 Mbps) is designed to meet and satisfy the need for the consumption of streaming online content such as short videos, movies, real-time gaming and live video chats.
“I encourage customers who use these services to try Zuku Fiber Triple Play services to optimize their experience”, he added.
The Zuku Fiber Triple Play package provides customers with Unlimited Internet Access ensuring they enjoy uninterrupted connectivity for a fixed monthly fee. The 100Mbps Triple Play package will be available in Kampala, Naguru area to start with. Zuku Fiber will shortly be rolled out to other areas of Kampala and around Uganda
With the Basic package, you will get up to 10 Mbps internet speeds plus TV for UGX 147,000. The Preferred TriplePlay package has internet speeds of up to 20 Mbps plus TV for UGX 197,000. The Premium and Advanced packages come with speeds of up to 40 Mbps and 100 Mbps respectively, and will cost 297,000 and 497,000 respectively. Looks like the prices are so competitive that people can’t wait to try out their services. The Advanced package will come with premium TV channels.
The Zuku Fiber Triple Play package also offers a bouquet of Digital TV services including popular Ugandan Free-to-Air channels and a large selection of popular TV channels for news, sports, movies, lifestyle, documentaries and entertainment among others.
Its third feature is a provision for a telephone line for the home which offers free calls on Zuku to Zuku numbers and competitive calling rates for local, regional and international calls that the company has not yet communicated.
