Windows 10 Technical Preview arrives on Smartphones: These are the supported phones

Windows 10 for phones

Windows 10 Technical Preview for smartphones is now out. But, not all Windows phones are supported. Microsoft has began with six phones and you can download and install it on them now. The company promises handsets will join Preview builds in the future. The following phones will be supported: Lumia 630, Lumia 635, Lumia 636, Lumia 638, Lumia 730, or Lumia 830.

It should be noted that this is a “very early” preview, so don’t expect things to be flawless, expect some bugs so testers are urged to get feedback and help shape the final Windows 10 release for phones.. The source link given below also has a list of all known issues in this build so install while knowing the repercussions.

During the Windows 10 Technical preview event (video below), Microsoft said this new mobile OS will come with a small subset of the features that will be in the final build. The full-size background image for the Start screen is in, as are more quick actions in the Action Center, and interactive notifications.

Other features like speech-to-text have been improved greatly, and the more powerful Photos app will aggregate your local photos with those you have stored on Microsoft’s OneDrive cloud storage.

Future updates of this build will include integration Office universal apps, Outlook Mail , Calendar apps and Skype integrated directly into Messaging.

Do you own any of the above supported phones? Perhaps you give Windows 10 for phones a try, but you need to first join the Windows Insider Program. Remember you also need to first install the Windows Insider app, start it up, register your device, then check for updates.
