As part of re-launching their 4G LTE brand in Uganda with focus on the youth and Small and Medium Scale Entrepreneurs, Vodafone Uganda has released a data monitoring and self-care app called My Vodafone App by Vodafone Uganda. A mouthful for an app, but worth every penny for Vodafone clients. The app is completely dedicated for both prepaid and postpaid customers and can be downloaded free from the Google Play store.

The feature packed app makes it easy for you to stay on top of your data and voice spending whilst on the go, no more bill shocks. You can check your spending, usage and remaining balance, and easily top up straight away with a voucher, mobile money or VISA. And as a first, Vodafone has incorporated a new feature where customers can easily chat with a contact center agent within the app.

After downloading, My Vodafone welcomes with an screen with two options: Login and Register. The main advantage is that you can use the same Reg ID for website accessing also. If you haven’t registered , You can register it via the app itself. The Register option takes you to a box where your Phone number, Password and security questions are asked. After successful registration, you can login and you will be welcomed by name with a beautiful Home screen. Below the welcome information, you are presented with your data usage stats. In terms of app design, we love it, the fading blue-seq background design is perfect and brings out the icons and fonts of the app.

There is even an option of quickly reloading your data with a package that suits your needs. With shortcuts to their popular daily packages; 100MB and 400 MB for 24 Hours that costs UGX 2,000 and UGX 7,000 respectively. The reversed- hamburger menu button below those options will quickly take you to the full suite of data packages that the company offers. It will give you options of both buying for yourself or gift the data to friend on the Vodafone network. At the bottom of the home screen you are presented with your current balance and a 24/7 support icon..

Vodafone has become the first Ugandan carrier to have an in app customer care service. With their 24/7 customer care service, the company aims to answer your frequently asked questions, ability to chat with them via their inbuilt chat system, and you can also make a call in case your issues have not been resolved by the first two options. The whole idea is to enjoy Vodafone’s new hassle free experience using this mobile app.
