UCC calls for provision of broadband Internet services in 25 locations

The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) has allocated funds to be used for provision of broadband internet services in underserved rural areas under the Rural Communications Development fund (RCDF).

The Commission has invited sealed bids from eligible bidders in the country for provision of services for broadband internet services in 25 locations (not yet specified by UCC). RCDF will provide a subsidy towards the cost of the services. Bidding will be conducted in accordance with the Open Domestic Bidding a procedure contained in the Government of Uganda’s Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act, 2003, and is open to all bidders.

Interested bidders have been advised to obtain further information and inspect bidding documents from Uganda Communications Commission 8.30 hours to 17.00 hours during working days.

Bidders should submit a complete set of Bidding Documents in English Language which will be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to UCC and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of UGX100,000 (Uganda Shilling One Hundred Thousand Only).

UCC expects all bids must be delivered to the physical address below at 8(c) at or before Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at10.00am. Late bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders¡¯ representatives who choose to attend at UCC Headquaters in Bugolobi at 10.15am on Tuesday, October 31, 2017. There shall also be a pre-bid meeting on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 11.00am.
