As competition in introducing smart phones in the local market rages on, Tigo had partnered with Huawei Technologies Tanzania to introduce the new product – Ascend Y300.
Speaking at the product launch yesterday, Huawei Technologies Tanzania Managing Director, Zhang Yong Quan described Ascent Y300 as a powerful smart phone offered at affordable price, that will make it more popular in the market.
“We are pleased to once again partner with Tigo Tanzania and are confident that this innovation driven partnership will grow substantially and yield more innovative solutions,” Quan said.
The Ascend Y300 is for the budget market. It has a 4-inch display, a 1GHz dual-core processor and runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. “This phone is specifically designed to cater for the needs of social networkers and uses the android application platform,” he explained.

users, smart phones are becoming a must have communication tools.
As we reported this week on Tuesday, Huawei also unveiled the HUAWEI Ascend P6, the world’s slimmest smart phone measuring 6.18mm.
The new smart phone features a 1.5GHz quad-core processor and a sleek metallic body. It has a 4.7-inch high definition in-cell display, industry-leading 5MP front-facing camera and outstanding software.
HUAWEI Ascend P6 is ultra slim at 6.18mm and weighs just about 120g.
