Announcing the launch at the Telecom headquarters a few hours ago, Smart Group CEO, Mr Abdellatif Bouziani dubbed it as a new and exciting experience for Ugandans in the mobile money market.
“Lots of things are happening but we are still here. For those that thought Smart Couldn’t make it this far well we are still here. We have been the most innovative operator in the race and have been voted the best operator. Following our habit to get the best in the market and for the last two years we have been cooking something. We have introduced Smart Pesa and since we have come in last in the market, we have come up with something unique, special in Uganda. You will discover that there is something new and we are doing a revolution in the mobile market. We starting with basic offers to get people to feel the uniqueness”, the CEO noted.
Smart Pesa comes with a provision where people can actually send to other networks at cheaper rates. “The fact that we are here for the third year despite coming in hard times, comparing to our sister comapines, we are going better and we are optimistic about the Ugandan market. We believe that smart Pesa is missing in Uganda. We are not here to compete on offerings but on ideas in the market.” he added.
Smart Telecom also joins the mobile money market as the last runner following other networks that are already progressing at the platform.
