Mr Angello Nkenza, the current acting Uganda Broadcasting Corporation UBC MD, has been rejected by the board as the next MD of UBC. He was meant to serve for a short period as the board prepares to recruit a substantial MD to replace Mr Paul Kihika, who was polemically removed from office in August last year. Now, the search for a new UBC MD has hit a snag after the corporation’s board rejected Mr Angello Nkenza, the acting MD, accusing him of being incompetent.
MD Position to be re-advertized
The board chair, former minister Nathan Igeme Nabeta said that only 29 applicants submitted their applications to Future Options, a firm contracted by UBC to search for a new MD and that number is too small.
According to the Daily Monitor, A UBC source confrimed that despite having conducted the search which ended with Mr Nkenza as the only candidate, the board differed with the outcome and asked that the position of MD be re-advertised.
