Samsung to pay Ericsson for mobile patent license disputes

After a long battle, Samsung and Ericsson have reached a global deal to end their ongoing mobile Wireless patent disputes. Samsung will pay Ericsson ongoing royalty costs plus initial payment to begin licensing its patents. The  exact amount in question was not disclosed, but Ericsson says that its Q4 2013 sales will increase by SEK 4.2 billion (around $651 million) as a result of this transaction. This new understanding gives Samsung access to a number of Ericsson mobile Wireless patents covering LTE, GSM, and UMTS standards related to both networking and devices.

Yesterday we Samsung and Google had established a broad patent licensing agreement, as Patent licensing has become a legal battlefield in the tech industry of late, with Samsung being in the middle of each and every  conflicts.
