TECNO Phantom 8 Launch In Dubai

The Phantom 8 has had quite a buzz dominating the rumor-mill with weeks leading up to its launch but just last Sunday, we were able to realize of what a device it is. The Phantom 8 launched in Dubai at Jumeirah Beach Hotel and it has quite the spec sheet and plays a good follow up to what came before it, that is the Phantom 6 and 6Plus or even better.

Under the hood

It has a glossy unibody that Tecno prefers to call the Diamond Fire Design with 3D glittery built around a metallic rail that houses 13MP +12MP Dual cameras at the back with a large 20MP megapixel camera at the front. It has a gigantic 6GB of RAM and comes with 64GB of internal storage.

The drawback would be its 5.7FHD screen but if we are to go with Tecno’s pricing standard, it should be worth it if you keep your eyes closed at particular aspects of the phone but bring it in comparison with other flagship, for which the Phantom 8 is half their price. We should also put that in bold too as Tecno’s pricing strategy and good devices have seen it become a dominant player in Uganda today.

The spec summary is as below

Tecno talked of the Phantom 8 supporting 4G+ or LTE Advance of theoretical download speeds of up to 300Mbps but unfortunately we have no telecom here in Uganda with such a network to take advantage of the technology. The 6GB RAM better be something as it is a rarity even in today’s top flagships. The Phantom 8 is run by Android 7.0 Nougat with Tecno’s HiOS skinning on top.

We shall give you a review of the device of how all these put together work hopefully if Tecno hears our plea. We are also told that the device will retail around UGX 1,200,000 – UGX 1,300,000 at selected Tecno shops.
