Microsoft’s Solitaire Collection comes to Android


For the first time, Microsoft’s new modern Solitaire Collection will now be available outside of Windows. The 25 year old Windows game Solitaire is finally coming to a smartphone near you. With several Solitaire knock-offs on the Play Store and Apple Store, Microsoft has decided to get its hands dirty and launch its popular version of Solitaire to iOS and Android today. The Solitaire Collection on iOS and Android will be free of charge, as the company hopes to gain more players to add to the 119 million who have already played the game on Windows 8 and Windows 10.

The following games come bundled in the  Microsoft Solitaire Collection; Klondike, Spider, FreeCell, Pyramid,and Tripeaks game types, alongside daily challenges for players. For the Xbox lovers, Microsoft is integrating Xbox Live into the game so you can sign into Solitaire and play with friends or earn achievements. But there is a catch, just like every mobile games, you will be hit by Ads, but Microsoft is also offering a “Premium Edition” for $1.99 per month without ads.

While there are lots of Solitaire games already available on iOS and Android, Microsoft counts its version as the “world’s number 1 Solitaire game” thanks to its loyal following on Windows. To download the new game you get the iOS version from Apple’s App Store, or the Android equivalent over at Google’s Play Store.
