Dethrones the Galaxy s5, HTC One and Sony Xperia Z
If there is one thing, LG has done this year, it has truly listen to feedback from its users, and the result is the gorgeous LG G3.It single highhandedly can take on the current flagships from HTC, Sony and Samsung.
The company has today in the UK unveiled its third iteration of the flagshsip G family namely the G3 and has thrown ever good spec know to any smartphone in this sleek looking device. With screen four times higher resolution than High definition (720 HD), LG’s Quad HD (2,560 x 1,440) is the first of it’s own kind with a 5.5 -inch IPS display at 550ppi.
A QUAD HD DISPLAY & LASER AUTO FOCUS CAMERA
As for the internals, there’s a Snapdragon 801 chip clocked at 2.5GHz coupled with 2GB of RAM with the latest Android KitKat, along with 16GB of storage. There’s also a 3 GB RAM /64GB if you want. The phone is powered by a removable (3,000mAh) battery, wireless charging and micro SD card support. Budding photographers will want to know that the main camera is a 13-megapixel unit, and comes with OIS plus technology and tap to focus. And just as rumored, has (infrared) laser auto focus.
The phone design is a mixture of the Google Nexus 5, the one plus one phone and a whiff of the HTC One (M8) but the metallic finish here is not the cold stuff and the company calls it a “metallic skin,” and it’s also anti-scratch. There also a slew of choice of colors as you will be able to pick from metallic black, silk white, shine gold, moon violet and burgundy red at launch. LG claims it has improved the it’s rear buttons as the center button lays much flatter, and protrudes less than on the G2.
For security the phone has three features, Knock on that you will use to unlock the phone just by taping it. The there is also a feature known as knock code which is basically a user input pattern of knocks on the screen that you can use as security to unlock the phone and lastly kill switch, a last resort to help you wipe data off your phone if it goes in the wrong hands among other things.
We welcome LG’s new and clean UI with flatter fonts and clear looking icons as we can see above. This is definitely a step in the right direction and if you ask us there is one thing you have to take home with you today, the LG G3 is a smartphone, with the most advanced smartphone features we’ve seen yet. If you are the sort of person who values top-end specs above all else, LG is ready for you.
