Huawei Ascend p7_hero0As in earlier years, Huawei’s latest flagship smartphone has been leaked , but not yet made official. Today in Paris, the company has shown off their latest P series ,the Huawei Ascend P7. Just like last year’s Ascend P6,  which was the thinnest smartphone at 6.8mm thick, the P7 is no different now at 6.5mm.

The Huawei’s design team is proud of their creation — “we wanted to show great emotion. The P7 is a work of art .. especially the glass back panel” — They used up to seven layers of micro patterns and finishes. Huawei’s mobile design VP, Joonsuh Kim said during the launch that the design is creating chemistry between product and customer he acknowledged that smartphones are getting bigger and thinner, so holding them is getting difficult. And they have learnt a lot from the design of the P6 now the natural place of your thumb rests on the power key as it should.Huawei Ascend p7_hero2

It has a 5-inch Full HD in-cell display  with a pixel density of 445ppi, coated with 3rd generation Gorilla Glass. Huawei clearly want to compete with HTC in design as they have crafted the P7 with great precision look and feel. They have created a new Huawei “Emotion UI” to sit on top of the default Android experience. Color palletes inspired by nature, with simple and advanced icon design. Lots of curved, MIUI-like icons and you can pick from more than 100 themes. You can use quick settings and tools by swiping up from bottom of the lock screen (kinda reminds us of iOS7).
