The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) has today began the process of suspending flamboyant Pastor Yiga’s ABS TV due to continued broadcasting of explicit content that is not fit for all ages. This was sparked off by the controversial TV station’s latest ‘news’ bulletin that raised eyebrows and attracted a lot of attention on social media. Under its mandent as the regulator, UCC has given ABS TV sixty days to ensure they modify their programs otherwise they will have their license revoked.

According to the letter this blog has managed to get a copy, UCC states that it has frequently warned the management of ABS TV not to broadcast explicit programs, a request which they seem to be stubbornly neglecting.

The letter also highlights more details on how UCC fined ABS TV over UGX 25 million for continuous breach of minimum broadcasting standards. You can see the UCC letter below.
