News just in, indicates that Apple’s purchase of Beats will cause some job loses minus the fact that the same deal made Dr. Dre a billionaire. According to Recode Apple recently informed as many as 200 Beats workers that they’ll have temporarily positions at the company once the acquisition closes. This is 28% of the total Beats staff of 700 employees. When asked about this revelation, an Apple spokes person told The Verge that

Because of some overlap in our operations, some offers are for a limited period and we’ll work hard during this time to find as many of these Beats employees as we can another permanent job within Apple.”[/signoff]
This means that even though Apple isn’t immediately throwing anyone onto the street, the company is trying to do its best to avoid layoffs wherever possible; And we hope the final count won’t be anywhere near 200. Beats Music CEO Ian Rogers is now expected to join Apple’s ranks along with Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine. Apple is also rumored to keep Beats’ Santa Monica headquarters around once the buyout is finalized.
